Betty Jean Loehden was born May 12, 1926 in Mountaindale, Oregon as Betty Jean VanDomelen. She passed away peacefully on November 15, 2012 in her home.

She had a charmed childhood, was Student Body President at Banks High School and attended Oregon State for two years. She then met the love of her life, Ernest Loehden, and they married soon after in 1948. They had two daughters, Nancy Jean (Hortnagl) and Jan (Upton). She was also blessed with five grandchildren, Monika Hortnagl, Joe Hortnagl, Kate Upton (Ayres), Jeff Upton, and Becky Upton. Her church, her Ernie, her children, grandchildren and her home and garden were the loves of her life.

Betty Jean loved arranging flowers and the family is asking that donations be sent to the Tualatin Plains Presbyterian Church in her name, to be used for floral arrangements for future church services.

A memorial celebration will be at the Tualatin Plains Presbyterian Church (Old Scotch Church) at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, November 24.
