Phyllis Estelle (Wolf) Sherman

Phyllis spent her early life in the St. Paul, Oregon area living on family farmland on French Prairie Road, St. Paul. She was very proud to have graduated from the Providence Hospital School of Nursing in Portland, Oregon 1948. As well, in October 1948, in St. Paul Catholic Church she married Bartell Francis Sherman of Rome, New York and they left thereafter to reside in Rome for 17 years. While living there they raised four children.

Bart's employment brought them to the west coast, settling in Citrus Heights, California during the summer of 1965. They resided there until retiring to their beloved beach house in Rockaway Beach, Oregon on Nedonna Beach during the late 1970's. Many happy years followed filled with quilt making ( being a Founder of the Latimer Center in Tillamook, Oregon), gardening, traveling the world and hosting family and friends who felt blessed to be with Phyllis and Bart at "the beach house". Their later years living in Newberg, Oregon.

Phyllis was preceded in death by her father, Philip Eugene Wolf and mother, Mary Estelle (La Rouche ) Wolf; her sister Kathleen Ferschweiler; brother-in-law Clifford Blanchette and her loving husband Bartell "Bart" F. Sherman. She is survived by her sister, Mary Eileen Blanchette; brother Philip Eugene (Mary Ellen) Wolf as well as her children; Rose Estelle (Dale) Jackson, John Philip (Gail) Sherman, David Bartell Sherman, Richard Eugene Sherman and his partner, Leslie Shields as well as grandchildren; Phillip (Jamie )Sherman; Brett (Julie) Sherman; Lindsey Estelle Jackson married to Ryan Wiebusch;

Justin Sherman and six great-grandchildren.

Internment at St. Paul Cemetery, St. Paul, Oregon. A Celebration of Life gathering will occur at a later date.
