Obituary
Angela Mary Anderson, 52, a resident of the Hillsboro community passed away on Monday evening, December 28, 2015 at the Tuality Community Hospital in Hillsboro.
Funeral mass will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 9, 2015 at St Anthony Catholic Church 1660 Elm Street in Forest Grove.
A reception will follow in the parish hall.
Angela was born on August 20, 1963 in Hillsboro, OR. She was one of eight children born to Bernard and Viola (Vanderzanden) Vandehey. She started her education at St. Anthony Catholic school until 5th grade and then attended Forest Grove schools graduating from Forest Grove High School with the class of 1981.
She met her future husband, Mike Anderson, through her brother, Jay. He had invited Mike to attend his 21st birthday party at her home. They soon began dating, they were married 1 1/2 years later on May 21, 1983 at St Anthony Catholic Church in Forest Grove. They made their home in Cornelius until they moved to Hillsboro in 1985 where they have lived since.
Angela had started working for Video USA in Forest Grove following high school and had worked her way up to a manager's position. Later on she worked for Intel Corp as a temp and in 2003 she began working as a an Administrative Assistant for Yamhill Log Scaling and Grading Bureau Inc.
She did crocheting, knitting was an avid gardener having a large yard for her flowers. She also enjoyed the outdoors, campfires, water and snow skiing, hiking and spending time at their second home at Lake Cushman, WA. Angie was an accomplished artist and was proficient in drawing and oil paints. She was a movie buff and had an open mind when it came to today's music and culture. Mike and Angie traveled all over the world including, Hawaii, Belize, Barbados, Mexico, and Canada. Her open and laid back personality made her very easy to make new friends.
She is preceded in death by her parents; Bud and Viola Vandehey, a sister; Linda Thompson and a nephew; Justen Thompson.
She is survived by her loving husband; Mike, two sons; Perry and Kirk Anderson both of the family home, six siblings and their spouses; Dan and Linda Vandehey of Cornelius, Bill Vandehey and his companion Lori Miller both of Banks, Pam and Monte Daily of Forest Grove, Jay Vandehey of Forest Grove, Tim Vandehey of Forest Grove, Annie and Adam Thompson of Gales Creek, her in-laws; Dick and Carol Anderson of Phoenix, AZ, brothers -in-law and their spouses; Richard and Rhonda Anderson of Glendale, AZ, Mark and Cindy Anderson of Portland, OR and many nieces and nephews.
