Donna M. Compton, 67, a resident of the Forest Grove community, died Saturday morning, May 2, 2020, at Kaiser Sunnyside Medical Center in Portland.

DONNA MAE COMPTON was born April 26, 1953, in Denver, Colorado, the daughter of the late Norman Norwood and Genoma (Farmer) Norwood. She was raised and received her early education in Tyronza, Arkansas, until she moved with her family to Oregon, settling in Mountaindale. Donna attended school in Hillsboro, having been a graduate of the Hillsboro Union High School Class of 1971.

She was united in marriage to Jerry Neil Compton on July 8, 1975, in Tigard, Oregon. Following their marriage, they resided in the Hillsboro community for twelve years, until 1987 when they moved to Cornelius. They made their home on Blooming Fernhill Road and later on Johnson School Road.

Donna was preceded in death by her husband, Jerry, on August 22, 2000, after celebrating over twenty-five years of marriage together.

She was an active member of the Visitation of the Blessed Virgin Mary Parish in Verboort.

Among her special interests, Donna enjoyed crocheting, gardening, and caring for her flowers.

Donna was also preceded in death by her parents, Norman and Genoma Norwood; her daughter, Gabrielle Jenks; her son-in-law, Steven Jenks; her brother, Michael Norwood and her nephew, Eric Norwood.

Survivors include her son, Jeremy Compton, of Cornelius, Oregon, and her brother and sister-in-law, Ken and Nancy Norwood, of Toledo, Washington.

Also, surviving is her granddaughter, Elizabeth Compton, of Medford, Oregon; several nieces and nephews, her special friend, Janice Pearce, of Forest Grove, Oregon; her godchildren, Sarah Pearce, of Beaverton, Oregon, and Casey Pearce, of Aloha, Oregon and several adopted grandchildren.
