Rudolph Frank Landauer, 98, a resident of the Verboort community, died Thursday morning, August 29, 2013 at his home.

Rudy was born on November 23, 1914, in Klamath Falls. He was raised in Ellis, Kansas. His family farmed and endured the dust bowl conditions of the midwest. His family moved to Oregon in 1935, having left Kansas shortly before the infamous \"Black Sunday.\" Rudy was a veteran of the U.S. Army in WW II and received a Purple Heart for his service.

He married Margaret Evers on April 20, 1949, at Verboort. Following their marriage they made their home in the Verboort community, where they have resided since. They celebrated their 64th wedding anniversary this year. Rudy was a member of Visitation Parish and a member of the Knights of Columbus.

During his retirement years, Rudy enjoyed gardening and building wishing wells. When he was not tinkering in his shop or tending to his lawn he could be found bicycling the backroads in Washington County. He received his High School Diploma from Forest Grove High School in 2007 at the age of 92.

He was preceded in death by his grandson, Louie; parents, Carl and Minnie; and siblings Stella, Vica, Tina, Henry, Carl and Rosie. He is survived by his brother, Fritz.

Survivors include his wife, Margaret, and his six children and their spouses; Celine and Rudy, Ed and Linda, Marv and Pam, Tim and Linda, Renee and Dan, and Mary and Ron. Rudy was known as \"Grandpa Tractor\" to 20 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren.

The family suggests that remembrances be made to the Visitation Catholic School, 4285 NW Visitation Road, Forest Grove, Oregon, 97116.

Margaret M. Landauer, 93, a resident of the Forest Grove community, died Thursday \r

evening, February 13, 2020, at Tuality Community Hospital in Hillsboro. \r

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Monday, February 24, 2020 at 11:00 A.M. at the Visitation Catholic Church, 4285 N.W. Visitation Road in Verboort, with Fr. Michael Vuky, celebrant. Recitation of the Holy Rosary will precede the Mass at 10:30 A.M. Rite of Christian Burial will follow at the Visitation Cemetery in Verboort. \r

Family and friends are invited to attend a luncheon immediately following the Mass, to be held in the parish hall. \r

Margaret was born on January 25, 1927 in Forest Grove, OR, the daughter of the late Antone Evers and Petronella (Hermens) Evers. She was raised and received her early education in the Verboort community and graduated from Forest Grove High School Class of 1945. She married Rudolph (Rudy) Landauer on April 20,1949 in Verboort, OR. Following their marriage, they lived in Forest Grove, Thatcher and ultimately settled onto their 2-acre ‘farm’ in Verboort where she resided until after Rudy’s death. She moved to Jennings McCall in 2015 where she remained active until her death. \r

Margaret worked as a library aide and a berry field boss, but she wished it was known that her primary job was a homemaker to her husband and children. She retired as a library aide from Banks Elementary School in 1992. \r

Margaret was preceded in death by her husband, Rudy on August 29, 2013, after celebrating over 64 years of marriage together. \r

She was a lifelong member of the Visitation Catholic Church in Verboort. She enjoyed sewing, making many hundreds of potholders for the church bazaar and crocheting kitchen scrubbies. After retiring she volunteered as the librarian for Visitation School and enjoyed many years reading books to each first grade class. She enjoyed playing cards and looked forward to the card parties with her siblings while they were alive. \r

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband and grandson Louie Hertel, as well as her siblings, Ernest, Francis, Robert and Willis Evers; her three sisters, Lucille Kempen, Sr. Anna Evers and Barbara Meeuwsen. \r

Survivors include her children and their spouses; Celine Landauer Allen & Rudy Allen, Mt. Vernon, WA; Ed & Linda Landauer, Oregon City, OR; Marv & Pam Landauer, Portland, OR; Tim Landauer and Linda Cowart, Yamhill, OR; Renee & Dan Wilson, Walla Walla, WA and Mary & Ron Hertel, Dallas, OR. She also had numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister, Janice Duyck of Forest Grove, OR. \r

She always welcomed family campouts on the farm where she spoiled everyone with cinnamon rolls, pepperoni bread and homemade jam. Her canned peaches were second to none. She also claimed several other children into her family, ‘adopting’ them as adults. \r

The family suggests that remembrances may be contributions to the Library at the Visitation Catholic School, 4285 NW Visitation Road, Forest Grove, Oregon, 97116 \r

Timothy David Landauer, 68, a longtime resident of the Yamhill community passed away on May 14, 2024 at his home.

Tim was born on February 9, 1956, in Hillsboro, OR. He was the fourth of seven children born to Rudy and Margaret (Evers) Landauer. He was raised in Verboort and attended Visitation Grade School and Banks High School graduating with the Class of 1974. Following high school he attended Mt Hood Community College.

He met his lifelong companion, Linda (Devine) Cowart, through mutual friends, they soon began dating and started their lives together in 1986. They made their home in Yamhill and he helped raise her three daughters as if they were his own.

He did various jobs before working as a general contractor. He worked for Braukman Brothers, where he fell in love with construction. He eventually went out on his own as Timco Construction, building multiple homes in the city of Yamhill. When he retired, he started making lightweight utility trailers.

Tim liked to go to garage sales and flea markets, and always found bargains. He liked to go fishing, camping, boating and hunting. Linda and Tim liked to spend time at their cabin on Detroit Lake. He also spent time in Condon, OR. hunting with friends. Tim was a farmer at heart and a tractor seat was his happy place. He enjoyed growing corn and pumpkins, raising cows & chickens, and making jerky. His three Irish Setter dogs were his constant companions. He was always up for a game of tic-tac-toe and rarely lost.

He is preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Baby Landauer and a nephew, Louie Hertel

He is survived by his companion, Linda Cowart, three daughters and their spouses, Amity and Erik Klier of Yamhill, Amber and Eric Liesegang of Yamhill, Amanda and DJ Niederberger of Gaston, five siblings, seven grandchildren, Taylor & Ryan, Reily & Callie, Nora, Rhys, Eva, Jaxx, Julia and one great grandson, Levi.
