Obituary
Anita Vandecoevering of the Forest Grove community passed away on Tuesday, May 31, 2016.
Anita was born on June 28, 1933 in Hillsboro, OR. She was one of seven children born to Clarence and Christine (Verboort) Haynes. She was raised on a farm in Gaston and as a little girl Anita and her family moved to Verboort, where she attended grade school and graduated from Verboort high School with the Class of 1951.
She married her childhood friend, Vincent Vandecoevering, on August 26, 1952 in Verboort. Following their marriage they made their home in Vincent's family farm in Verboort. Vincent passed away on June 7, 1988 and Anita continued to live on the family farm until her passing.
Anita was a devoted and loving mother to her nine children; Ed, Bob, Rich, Jim, Barb, Fran, Roger, Nancy and Lisa. She also worked outside the home at the "Prune Exchange" to help bring in extra money. She enjoyed gardening, bird watching and animals. Spending time with family and relatives was very important as well as camping, trips to the beach and cooking.
She is preceded in death by her loving husband, her parents and four siblings.
She is survived by her nine children and their spouses; Ed and June Vandecoevering of Verboort, Bob and Betty Vandecoevering of Verboort, Rich and Diann Vandecoevering of Banks, Jim and Sue Vandecoevering of Portland, Barb and John Hess of Verboort, Fran and Noe Ochoa of Verboort, Roger Vandecoevering and his fiancée; Trish Birr both of Banks, Nancy and Jack Doner of Forest Grove, Lisa and Ray Cooper of Forest Grove, two sisters; Lorraine Anderson of forest Grove, Darlene Arndt of Gaston, thirty five grandchildren and fifty great grandchildren.
