Larry J. Bell, 85, a resident of the Forest Grove community, died Sunday, November 12, 2023, at his home.

LARRY J. BELL was born January 20, 1938, in Hillsboro, Oregon, the son of the late Henry Bell and LaVern (Griffin) Bell. He was raised and received his education in the Forest Grove community, having been a graduate of Forest Grove High School Class of 1956.

He served one enlistment in the Oregon National Guard, until he received his honorable discharge.

Larry was united in marriage to Oddetta M. Day on May 10, 1958, in the Gales Creek Community Church. They celebrated their 65th Wedding Anniversary this past May. Following their marriage they moved to the Forest Grove community, where they have resided since.

He worked as a roofer for Griffith Roofing in Beaverton for twenty years, until he retired at the age of fifty-seven years old.

Larry was a member of the Roofers Union Local #49 in Portland, Oregon.

Among his special interests, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, antiquing and metal detecting.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Henry and LaVern Bell, grandparents Newton and Margaret Griffin, brothers Robert Delauney and Gary Bell, and sister Linda Day.

Survivors include his wife, Oddetta Bell, of the family home in Forest Grove, Oregon; his four children, Crystal Ploem, of Forest Grove, Oregon; Rhonda Sandstrom, of Forest Grove, Oregon; Larry Bell and his wife, Tamera, of Cornelius, Oregon and Lori Javorsky, of Forest Grove, Oregon, his brother Randy Erb and his two sisters and a brother-in-law, Bev and Jack Erickson, of Beaverton, Oregon and Diane Barron, of Seattle, Washington.

Also surviving are his nine grandchildren, eighteen great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
