Oddetta Marie Bell, 83, a resident of the Forest Grove community, died Tuesday morning, April 9, 2024, at her home.

ODDETTA MARIE BELL was born December 5, 1940, in Texas, the daughter of the late Lester Day and Alma Marie (Owens) Day. At the age of eight years old, she moved with her family to Oregon, settling in the Gales Creek community, where she was raised and received her education.

She was united in marriage to Larry J. Bell on May 10, 1958, in the Gales Creek Community Church of God. Following their marriage, they made their home in the Forest Grove community, where she had resided since.

Oddetta was preceded in death by her husband, Larry, on November 12, 2023, in Forest Grove, after celebrating over sixty-five years of marriage together.

She had worked as a technician in the electronics industry for Tektronix, Inc. and later Parks Medical Company in Aloha, for over twenty years, until she retired.

Among her special interests, Oddetta enjoyed camping, deer hunting, visiting the Oregon coast and Spirit Mountain Casino.

She was also preceded in death by her parents, Lester and Alma Day and by her two brothers, Leslie and Willard Day.

Survivors include her four children and a spouse, Crystal Ploem, of Forest Grove, Oregon; Rhonda Sandstrom, of Forest Grove, Oregon; Larry “Dean” and Tamera Bell, of Cornelius, Oregon and Lori Javorsky, of Forest Grove, Oregon and her brother, Lester Day, of Portland, Oregon.

Also surviving are her nine grandchildren, eighteen great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
