Obituary
Eugenia "Jeanne" Katherine Coussens, 91, a resident of the Hillsboro community passed away Thursday evening, February 19, 2015 at her home.
Recitation of the Holy Rosary will be said at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, February 25,2015 at St Matthew Catholic Church; 447 SE 3rd Ave in Hillsboro.
Funeral Mass will follow at 11:00 a.m.
Family and friends are invited to attend a reception following the Mass held in the parish hall
Rite of Christian Burial will be held at Visitation Cemetery in Verboort.

Eugenia Catherine Hermens was born December 5, 1923 in Forest Grove Oregon, the daughter of the late William Hermens and Wilhelmina (Bernards) Hermens. Jeanne was the third of six children. She started her education at the age of 5 at the Visitation Grade School and Graduated from Verboort High School.
As a young girl, Jeanne picked berries for the local farmers. At the age of 16, she worked at the Birdseye Cannery in Hillsboro. After high school, Jeanne worked in the kitchen at St. Vincent’s Hospital, which was then located on Westover Drive in Northwest Portland.
Jeanne was married on November 23, 1942 to Richard LaHaie at St. Francis Church in Roy, Oregon. Richard and Jeanne worked at the Oregon Ship Yards in Portland. Jeanne continued to work in the shipyard after Richard joined the Army. Richard was killed in action on May 29, 1944 on the Island of Biak in the South Pacific.
Shortly after the death of Richard, Jeanne enrolled at Marylhurst University, earning her teaching certificate.
Jeanne Hermens LaHaie was married to Albert Coussens on November 18, 1947 at Visitation Church in Verboort. They lived on the Davis Farm on Glencoe Road for 12 years before moving into the Sinclair Home. In 1975 they build a home and moved to Hillsboro.
Jeanne enjoyed playing bridge, gardening, cooking and traveling.
Jeanne was preceded in death by her husband of 46 years, Albert, her parents, her two Siblings; Bud Hermens and Muriel Petty and her son, John Coussens.
Survivors include her sons and daughter-in-laws; Bill and Sue Coussens, Bob and Susan Coussens and Dee Ann Coussens, all of Hillsboro, three sisters; Dorothy Hermens, Ann Schmidlkofer and Frances Kelly, five grandchildren; Angela Tuck, Chris Coussens, Amy Coussens, Ryan Coussens and Emily Coussens and three great grandchildren; Reyan, Kailynn and Berkleigh Tuck.
