Obituary

James “Jim” Albert Evers, 68, a resident of Molalla, OR, passed away on April 26, 2023 at his home.

Jim was born on February 11, 1955 in Hillsboro, OR.  He was second oldest of eight children born to Peter Evers and Mary (Miller) Evers Zoucha.  He attended Visitation and St Francis Grade Schools, Banks High School, and studied dairy husbandry at Clatsop Community College.

Jim was married to Teri Bailey in 1975 and they had two children, Breanna and Isaak, making their home in Cloverdale, OR followed by Whidbey Island, WA.  They divorced in 1994.  Jim married Lisa Bowman in 1995, making their home in Sumas, WA.  They divorced in 2012.

Jim was an active 4H and FFA member, served as President of the Banks High School FFA Chapter, and was fond of showing dairy cattle at county and state fairs.  He enthusiastically supported his kids’ endeavors in 4-H and cultivated in them a love for animals and the outdoors.  Jim was a reader and Eucharist Minister at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Cloverdale, OR.  He worked in the dairy industry for over 30 years, initially as herdsman, on farms in Cloverdale, OR, and Whidbey Island, WA.  Following, he worked as general manager for a large dairy operation in Sumas, WA.  He enjoyed target practice, camping, fishing, and gardening.  He liked traveling and a highlight trip for him was visiting and hiking in Germany, Austria, and Italy, with his siblings in 2008.

He is preceded in death by his father, Peter Evers.

He is survived by his two children:  Breanna and spouse, Dean Pesch of Plummer, ID, Isaak Evers of Maple Falls, WA; his mother and her spouse, Mary Evers Zoucha and Mike Zoucha of Hillsboro; seven siblings and their spouses: Joyce and Mike Ochsner of Portland, Tony Evers and Pedro Monteiro of Brazil, Jane Evers and Peter Bonting of Austria, John and Lisa Evers of Beaverton, Ken and Erin Evers of Gaston, Margaret Evers of Hillsboro, Susanne Evers of Portland; six grandchildren: Grace Pesch, Dean ‘Sonny’ Pesch Jr., Danielle Pesch, Emily Pesch, Aleska Evers, and Gage Daniels; and many nieces and nephews.
