Edmond Peschka, 62-year resident
Edmond Nicholas Peschka, 77, Hillsboro, died Oct. 6, 1991, at Forest View Care Center in Forest Grove of congestive heart failure.
A rosary, followed by a funeral mass, will be held Thursday at 10 a.m. at Visitation Roman Catholic Church in Verboort, with the Rev. Frank Walsh as celebrant and the Rev. James Harris as con-celebrant.
Interment will follow in Visitation Cemetery in Verboort.
Mr. Peschka was born March 4, 1914, in Claflin, Kan., a son of Frank and Flora Seus Paschka. He moved from Salinas, Kan., to Hillsboro in 1929.
On April 4, 1932, he married Julia Vandehey in Roy. She died Aug. 13, 1990, after 58 years of marriage.
Mr. Peschka served in the U.S. Army in France during World War II and in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean conflict.
He was a contractor in the Hillsboro area most of his life. He enjoyed square dancing, fishing, golfing and gardening.
Survivors include three sons and daughters-in-law, Richard and Barbara Peschka, Forest Grove, Robert and Shirley Peschka, Aloha, and Thomas and Janet Peschka, Milwaukie; and a daughter and sonin-law, Barbara and Frank Vanoudenhaegen, Hillsboro.
Also surviving are 13 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; his mother, Flora Peschka, Woodburn; two brothers, Leonard Peschka, Forest Grove, and Jerome Peschka, Roswell, N.M.; three sisters, Maryanne Kohlmeyer, Hubbard, Catherine Henry, Winlock, Wash., and Carol GhormleyApple Valley, Calif.; and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family suggests memorial contributions to Visitation Catholic Parish in Verboort.
