Michael Anthony Vandervelden was born December 24, 1961 at Hillsboro, Oregon, the son of Harold Vandervelden and Evelyn Meeuwsen Vandervelden. He attended Visitation Grade School and was a 1980 graduate of Forest Grove High School.
He worked as a Seed Cleaner, employed by the VanDyke Seed Company, Sunrise Divison at North Plains.
Mr. Vandervelden was a life member of Visitation Catholic Church and a member of the Verboort Rod and Gun Club. Among his special interests he enjoyed golfing, trapshooting, fishing and hunting.
Survivors include his parents, Harold and Evelyn Vandervelden of Forest Grove; a sister, Kathleen Carey of Gaston; five brothers, Clifford, Kenneth, Edward and Francis, all of Forest Grove, and Marvin of Cornelius; and his grandmother, Mary Vandervelden of Forest Grove.
