Obituary

Nollette, Catherine 96 May 22, 1920 Aug. 18, 2016 Catherine (Petrusich) Nollette died in Portland August 18, 2016 at the age of 96. She was born May 22, 1920, in Roseburg, to Robert and Gertrude Petrusich. After moving to Portland, Catherine attended grade school and high school at the Madeleine and obtained a BA in music from Marylhurst College, where she excelled in the cello and piano, which she enjoyed throughout her life.

She moved to Seattle, where she met her husband Lewis (who died in 2002). They married in 1946 and had two sons, David and Dennis. During her life she moved between Seattle and the Portland area, working as a homemaker and as an assistant in various

office settings, and playing organ at the church. Her last full-time job was helping run the office for a group of cardiologists at the University of Washington. She enjoyed dancing and was a devoted pinochie player. In retirement, she was an avid volunteer with several organizations, working at them until she was 92. She is survived by her sons; three grandchildren, Stewart, Trevor, and Elyce Nollette; four great-grand children; and numerous nieces, nephews and friends. In lieu of flowers, remembrances can be made to her favorite charities; Volunteer Services at Catholic Charities, Vancouver, where she was a driver; Albertina Kerr, where she worked in the shop; the Japanese Garden, where she was a docent; and the Portland'5 Center, where she ushered. Funeral at 10 a.m., Tuesday, Aug. 30, 2016 at Holy Rosary Church, 375 Northeast Clackamas St., Portland.
