Keizer - Charlene, aged 80, left her family & friends on July 4th, 2017, following a courageous and long battle with Alzheimer's. Born in St. Paul, Oregon, to Ray and Catherine Kerr, she married her sweetheart Carl in 1955 - raising 7 children while helping run the families Hop farm for over 40 years. She also loved working with her family at Keizer Travel & Cruise Center for 25 years, and was named Keizer's First

Citizen in 2006 - after being active in and volunteering for Keizer's CERT Team, Keizer Community Policing, Salem Police as a Domestic Violence Response Team member, and working with the Red Cross, serving two tours of hurricane relief. She enjoyed family, travel and volunteer work. Charlene is survived by her 6 children Carla Genz, Greg, Gary, Ken, Brian and Lisa Brayton; 13 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren, and sister Rosalie Weathers. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband Carl, son Jeff, and brother Roger Kerr.

Funeral mass will be held at 10:00am, July 12th, 2017 at St. Edwards Catholic Church in Keizer, preceded by a Rosary at 9:30am. A reception will follow mass at the parish hall, with interment at St. Paul Cemetery, St. Paul, OR. Memorial contributions may be made to the Red Cross and the Alzheimer's Association.
