Nolan Joseph Kemper

Nolan Joseph Kemper was born at Forest Grove on September 28, 1935, the son of William and Dorothy Vandervelden Kemper. He recieved all of his early education at the Visitation Elementary and High School at Verboort and then graduated from Pacific University. He recieved his Master's degree from the University of Portland and then taught and coached three years at Eddyville. He then accepted a similar position with the Department of Defense and spent the next ten years in France and the Phillipine Islands. He later attended Portland State University and recieved his Certified Public Accountants License and he had been associated with Warren Lancaster's C.P.A. firm in Forest Grove after becoming licensed in 1977. Mr. Kemper had lived at Banks since 1976 and had been very active in the Banks Summer Baseball program. He had been coaching one of the league teams at Banks and also coached soccer at North Plains. He had been a lifelong member of the Catholic Church in the earlier years at the Visitation Church at Verboort and in later years of the St. Francis of Assisi Church at Roy. Mr. Kemper was married August 10, 1963 at Beaverton to Rosemary Smith who along with four children, Katrina, Karl, Chris and Kerry Kemper, survive him at the family home. Also surviving are his parents, Mr. & Mrs William Kemper of Verboort and five sisters, Mrs. Robert (Jean) Lepschat, Banks; Mrs. A.A. (Joyce) Giesbers and Mrs. Dennis (Sharon) Giesbers, both of Forest Grove; Mrs. Charles (Carolyn) Chapman, Orcus Island, Washington and Mrs. David (Charlene) Flowers, Eugene.
