Obituary

Ralph Edward Verboort was born in Portland, Oregon to Martha (Vandehey) and Leslie Verboort on February 9, 1947.
He graduated from Forest Grove High School in 1965. He attended Oregon State University until he was drafted into the army. During his time in the service, he served in Germany and Vietnam.
In 1970 he married Kathy (Miller) and started his career working in maintenance at GAF Corporation. At this time he also received his license in small airplane mechanics. After that he worked for Dupar Dynamics as a service repairman. For the next eighteen years, he was an employee at Tektronix. While working at Tek, he had many jobs which included maintenance mechanic, supervisor, and then he became a process engineer. One of his achievements was a via punch design that Tektronix later patented.
Ralph was a man of many interests. He loved hunting, fishing, metal detecting, and computers. He enjoyed flying and had a private pilot's license. Also he was a mechanical wizard.
He is survived by his wife Mrs. Kathy Verboort of Verboort, a son and daughter-in-law, Jeff and Christine Verboort of Pensacola, Florida, a daughter and son-inlaw, Shauna and Matt Segerdahl of Aloha, and a son, Steven Verboort of Verboort. Two grandchildren, Kyle and Travis Segerdahl of Aloha, three brothers, Ken and his wife Barbara Verboort of Aurora, Ed and his wife Jeanne Verboort of Bend, and Norman and his wife Gayle Verboort of Verboort, and many aunts, uncles, neices, and nephews.
