Obituary

JUDITH MARIE "JUDY" BRAUKMAN was born July 6, 1913 in Butler, Minnesota, the daughter of Nicholaas and Theodore Grada (Wigman) Polman. She was raised and received her education in the Butler community.
She was united in marriage to Henry Francis "Pop“ Braukman on April 14, 1931 in Butler, Minnesota. They celebrated their 66th Wedding Anniversary this past April. Following their marriage they lived in Butler until 1948 when they moved to Oregon, settling in the Verboort community. In 1976 they moved to Forest Grove where in most recent years they lived at the Homestead community and currently residing at Vintage Suites.
Judy had worked for several years for the Birds Eye Cannery in Hillsboro and later at the Masonic and Eastern Star Home in Forest Grove.
She was a lifelong member of the Catholic church and since moving to Verboort, Judy has been a member of the Visitation Parish and Alta Society. Among her interests, she enjoyed card playing, crocheting and needlepoint. She also enjoyed traveling in the winters to Mesa, Arizona, Mexico and Hawaii.
Judy was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Antone Polman.
Judy died December 31, 1997 at the Tuality Community Hospital in Hillsboro. She is survived by her husband, Henry F. "Pop" Braukman, of Forest Grove; three sons and daughters-in-law, Eugene H. "Gene” and Nancy Braukman of Cornelius, Oregon; Henry P. "Butch" and Lanie Braukman of Hillsboro, Oregon; and Thomas C. "Tom" and Felicia Braukman of Forest Grove, Oregon; and two daughters and sons-in-law, Dorothy F. and Leander Peters of Cornelius, Oregon; and Joyce M. Braukman of Garibaldi, Oregon.
Also surviving are thirteen grandchildren, eighteen greatgrandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
