BEN W. BRAUKMANN was born December 11, 1914 at Red Elm, South Dakota, the son of the late Ben W. Braukmann Sr. & Francisca Grosse' Budde Braukmann. He lived in Red Elm until he was five years of age and then moved with his family to Perham, Minnesota. He lived there until moving to Banks, Oregon in 1935. He moved to his present home in 1942. Mr. Braukmann was united in marriage, November 11, 1942 to the former Miss Clare Heesacker at Verboort. In the forties he worked in the farming industry and in the lumber industry. He attended and graduated from the Multnomah Technicial College in Portland with a degree in Electronics. He owned and operated a television sales and repair business. He went to work for the Tektronix Corp. in Beaverton, working with them until he retired in 1979. Mr. Braukmann was a licensed ham radio operator. He enjoyed music and reading. He especially enjoyed his family and collecting antiques. He was a member of the Visitation Catholic Church in Verboort. Mr. Braukmann died following a heart attack at the Forest Grove Community Hospital in Forest Grove early Saturday morning, August 17, 1985. He is survived by his wife; Clare at the family home on Rt. 3, Forest Grove. Also surviving are three sons and two daughters, James & Bob Braukmann both of Spokane, Wa.; Bill Braukmann of Forest Grove; Mrs. Mark (Jane) Arthur, Spokane, Wa. and Mrs. John (Patricia) King, Los Angeles, Ca. Three Grandchildren; Mark, Jack & Ben Braukmann all of Spokane, Wa. survive as does four brothers and three sisters; Henry Braukman, Forest Grove; John Braukmann, New York Mills, Minnesota; Bill Braukmann, Banks, Or.; Frank Braukman, Cornelius, Or.; Ann Kramer, Hillsboro; Mary Cramer, Forest Grove, and Gertrude Declerk of Prineville, Oregon. The family has suggested memorial contributions in his memory to the Kennedy Child Care Center, 1328 22nd Street, Santa Monica, California 90404, in his memory.
