EVELYN MARIE BRAUKMANN was born May 19, 1923 at Butler, Minnesota, the daughter of the late August Declerck and Mary (Vandeberg) Declerck. She was raised and received her education in Minnesota.
She was united in marriage to William Braukmann on November 21, 1944 at Butler, Minnesota. They celebrated their 46th Wedding Anniversary this past November. Following their marriage they resided in Minnesota until 1947 when they moved to Oregon, settling in the Verboort community. In 1967 they moved to the Banks community where they resided for twenty years until 1987 when they moved to their present home in Hillsboro.
Mrs. Braukmann was a longtime member of the Visitation Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church in Verboort. She was a member of the Catholic Order of Foresters as well as a member of the Forest Grove Elks Lodge B.P.O.E. #2440 Elkettes
Among her special interests she enjoyed sewing, animals and had a special love for camping.
Mrs. Braukmann died Thursday, April 18, 1991 at the Tuality Community Hospital in Hillsboro. She is survived by her husband, William, of the family home in Hillsboro, Oregon; three sons and daughters-in-law, Randy and Lydia Braukmann of Hillsboro, Oregon; Curtis and Patrizia Braukmann of Overland Park, Kansas; and Allen Braukmann of Hillsboro, Oregon; a daughter and son-in-law, Lelani and Richard Nussbaumer of Hillsboro, Oregon; a brother, Albert Declerck of Bend, Oregon; and four sisters, Alice Kircher of Rochester, New York; Alfreda Boogaard of Forest Grove, Oregon; Marcella Evers of Forest Grove, Oregon; and Laura LaDue of Phoenix, Arizona.
Also surviving are nine grandchildren, Anna and Marie Braukmann; Shane and Jason Nussbaumer; Paul Braukmann; and Lisa, Jeffrey, Matthew and Michael Braukmann; several nieces and nephews and a host of friends and neighbors.
The family suggests that remembrances may be contributions to the EVELYN M. BRAUKMANN MEMORIAL FUND, %Visitation Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church, Rt. 2, Box 222, Forest Grove, Oregon 97116, in her memory.
Family and friends are invited to attend a reception immediately following the cemetery rites, to be held at the Parish Center.
