Lois T. Vandehey, 80, a longtime resident of the Verboort community currently of Hillsboro passed away on Saturday morning, July 13, 2019 at her home.

Lois was born on June 11, 1939 in Hillsboro, OR. She was one of twelve children born to Edward and Josephine (Vandomelen) Meeuwsen. She was raised in North Plains and attended Hillsboro High School graduating with the Class of 1957. Lois then began working for Tektronix in Beaverton for two years.

She met her future husband, Lester Vandehey, while attending a dance in Verboort. Lester asked her out on a date the following day and this began a two year courtship. They married on July 9, 1960 in Verboort. They made their home off of Cornelius-Schefflin Rd in Cornelius and had three children; Daniel, Andy and Debbie. Lester passed away on April 9, 2017.

Lois was a homemaker, she enjoyed singing, gardening, dancing, and traveling with her husband. She was also a volunteer at her church as an altar society member, choir singer, and had taught bible school. Most of all she enjoyed being a grandma, and spoiling her grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her loving husband, Lester, her parents, and siblings; Erma, Gerald, Edna, Gladys, Eugene, Marylee, Janice, Ronald, and Vera.

She is survived by her three children and their spouses; Daniel and Dawn Vandehey of Cornelius, Andy and Connie Vandehey of Hillsboro, Debbie and Gary Greenlee of Hillsboro, siblings; Coralee and Thomas, four grandchildren; Brandon Vandehey, Mitchel Vandehey , Breanna Greenlee and Byron Greenlee.
