Louella M Evers
Obituary
Louella was born on April 13, 1925 in Butler, Minnesota. She was one of five children born to Raymond and Elizabeth (Schaeffer) VandenBurghe. She was raised in Butler and received her education there. In 1949 she moved here with her parents and when it didn't work out, they all returned to Minnesota. However, several years later, they returned to the Verboort area and this time they stayed. She stayed with her sister and brother-in-law and helped raise their children. It was in a strawberry field in 1957, while hoeing for her brother-in-law, that a neighbor noticed her and came over with a hoe and began to help her. The neighbor was Francis Evers. She was united in marriage to Francis Evers on January 11, 1958 in Verboort, OR. Following their marriage, they rented a house on her sister's place and a year later, they moved in with her father-in-law and made their home on the family beef farm in Forest Grove. Francis died in 2000, but Louella continued to live on the farm until her passing. Louella was first and foremost a loving wife to her husband and a devoted mother to her four children. She enjoyed gardening, canning, baking and embroidery. She was fond of classic country music and was a very caring and giving person.
