Obituary
Beverly Johanna Evers, 83, a resident of the Verboort community passed away on December 10, 2022 at her home.
Beverly was born on November 25, 1939 in Perham, MN. She was the third of nine children born to Con and Alfreda (Declerck) Boogaard. She moved to Verboort in 1952 and attended Visitation Grade School. She was the valedictorian from the last graduating class from Verboort High School in 1957. When she graduated Bev went to work as a teller for First Nation Bank in Forest Grove and then to US Bank in Banks, OR.
She met her future husband, Joseph Evers while in high school. They soon began dating and they married on May 7, 1960 at Visitation Catholic Church in Verboort. They bought a dairy farm in Banks later that year and had seven children.
Beverly was a farmer’s wife, she helped raise the baby calves, drove silage truck and occasionally milked the cows. She was an avid bowler, enjoyed anything that had to do with her children’s or grandchildren’s activities such as showing cows and playing sports. She liked to play cards and board games and spend time with her family. She loved Mexican food, flowers and short trips to the beach. She was a volunteer member of the Banks American Legion Auxiliary and a member of the Washington County Dairy Wives and helped volunteer at her children’s functions.
She is preceded in death by her parents, three siblings, Virginia Boogaard, James Boogaard and Sister Janice Boogaard and a great granddaughter Lyla.
She is survived by her husband, Joseph Evers, seven children and their spouses, Roger Evers of Forest Grove, Karen and Wes Montgomery of Wilsonville, Diane and Jack Noble of Philomath, Dale Evers of Banks, Lyle and Nikki Evers of North Plains, Carla and John Stables of Gaston, Sheila and Bruce Harris of Banks. Also surviving are five siblings and their spouses, Darlene and Chuck Moore of Aloha, Margie and Walt Vandehey of Cornelius, Jerry and Lois Boogaard of Forest Grove, Joyce and Jerome Hunter of Forest Grove, Ronald and Marilyn Boogaard of Lebanon, PA, twenty-four grandchildren and twenty great grandchildren.
The family suggests donations in Beverly's name to the St Francis of Assisi Parish Center Fund and/or to the Visitation Catholic School Building Fund.
